The ISDE (Investment Subsidy for Sustainable Energy and Energy Saving) is the Dutch national scheme through which homeowners get money back on insulation measures. Insulating glass is one of them. And if you are replacing your windows anyway, that is the moment to claim it. Here is exactly what you can expect.
How much do you get back?
RVO calculates per square metre of glass, not per window. That is important to know: eight small windows yield less than three large glazed areas with the same number of frames. The amounts for measures from 1 January 2025. Which also apply in 2026. Are:
- HR++ glazing: € 25 per m²
- Triple glazing in new frames: € 111 per m²
- Insulating panels in frames: € 10 per m² (high-performance, in new frames: € 45 per m²)
- Insulating doors: € 25 per m², or € 111 per m² in new frames
The difference between € 25 and € 111 is large, and the reason is simple: the high triple rate only applies if you also replace the frames. Put triple glazing in your existing timber frames and you fall back to the HR++ amount. Because we replace frame and glass as standard, you qualify for the higher rate with us.
Two measures: double the amount
Combine the glazing measure within 24 months with a second insulation measure. Roof insulation, floor insulation, cavity wall insulation or a heat pump, and the amount per m² doubles. Triple glazing then yields € 222 per m². For an average home with 20 m² of glass, that is the difference between € 2,220 and € 4,440.
The conditions in brief
- You are an owner-occupier and registered at the address. Different schemes apply to tenants and homeowners’ associations.
- A minimum of 3 m² of glass, and a maximum of 45 m² of eligible area.
- The glass must meet the U-value requirements: HR++ no more than 1.2 W/m²K, triple no more than 0.7 W/m²K.
- You apply afterwards, within 24 months of the work being carried out, with the invoice and the glass reference number.
- The work must be carried out by a building company. DIY does not count.
How the application works
- We fit the windows and supply the invoice stating the glass type, the number of m² and the reference number.
- You log in at mijn.rvo.nl with DigiD and complete the application.
- You upload the invoice and proof of payment.
- RVO usually decides within eight weeks and transfers the amount.
We prepare everything and will go through the application with you if you like. You submit it yourself. Nobody else can do that for you, because it is tied to your DigiD.
Note: the budget is not unlimited
The ISDE has an annual budget. Once it is spent, the scheme closes for that year. So do not wait too long to apply after the work is finished. The amounts can also change from year to year, always check the current position at rvo.nl.
