Why a uPVC front door?
A front door has a hard life: sun, rain, slamming, daily use. After a few years a timber door tends to warp or need painting; a uPVC door with a steel core stays straight, still closes tightly after years and never needs painting. Also important: a modern uPVC door insulates far better than an old timber one, draughts in the hallway are a thing of the past.

The most popular front door is a panel door: a solid, insulated panel in a uPVC frame, sleek and modern or with a vertical glazed strip for light in the hallway. There is also the classic door with a larger glass area, often chosen as a back or side door by the kitchen or utility room.

What does a uPVC front door cost?
The price depends on the model, the glazing, the colour and the hardware. A solid panel door in white is the most affordable; a panel door with a glass strip, woodgrain foil and a side light sits at the top end.

Security and locks
As standard the door gets a multi-point lock: turning the key locks it at the top, middle and bottom at once. The cylinder is SKG**-certified and protected against core pulling. The glass in a front door is always laminated, so smashing it is pointless.

Want convenience? A self-locking lock secures the door without a key as soon as it closes. We prepare a motor lock, fingerprint scanner or intercom connection at the factory.
Insulation and draughts
Our panel door has an insulated core and double seals all round. The threshold is low and thermally broken, so no cold bridge forms. The result: no more draughts at the door and a hallway that is no longer the coldest spot in the house.

A front door on its own usually falls outside the ISDE subsidy; if you replace windows with HR++ or triple glazing at the same time, those do count.
Colour, handle and finish
The door comes in the same 50+ colours and woodgrains as our windows, or in an accent colour. Anthracite outside with white inside is the most popular combination. For dark colours facing south we use a foil with a cooling layer, so the door stays straight even in the summer sun.

The handle defines the face of your door: a long stainless-steel or black bar, a classic knob or a plain lever. We can also integrate the letterbox, house number and doorbell.
Installation, warranty and maintenance
After measuring, the door is made to size; allow a few weeks' production time. The replacement itself usually takes one day: old door and frame out, new one in, finishing inside and out, adjustment and an explanation of the lock. In the evening you simply lock your new door.
